Searching for course………

After came to Sri Lanka wife started to work again to collect required working hours to Register Nurse as AU and part-time completing her BSc in OUM.

This is the time I’m waiting for... I want to follow good photography course and search everyware..Check News paper, Internet, ask from peoples.. Finally, I got some options.
·         Lal Hegoda Photography School
·         National Association of Photographers (napsl)
·         The National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka
·         Photographic Society of Sri Lanka
·         Photography course in University of Kelaniya.
Now I’m confusing in which is best for me. Try to get some idea from Facebook comments but not satisfied. I though, best thing to do is check all places myself.

  • ·      Call to Lal Hegoda and he said next Digital Photography class would begin in 10th of July. (oh.. I have to wait 3 months)
  • ·      Then I went to Photographic society of Sri Lanka () in Lionel Vent.  When I was there class was going on and girl in front said next Batch will start August (Very disappointed)
  • ·      Then I went to National Association of Photographers, which is in Dehiwala. They had 3 years course after get membership (I know I can’t spend 3 years for continue studies and it’s not suit to me) their Short Course already started and next will 17th July. (Need to Wait...)
  • ·      The National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka- Call those several times for their mobiles but no one answer and no reply for email too. They have PO box address which cant visit (better forget it)
  • ·      Try to get details about course in Kelaniya but get few. Seems to be have to wait until they advertise for next batch and someone said it’s only for Uni’s student.

After all, my decision is waiting until July for Hegoda sir’s class. I already read his books and know he is the one of best teacher in Sri Lanka. I called him and paid to book a seat for me.

One Day my wife show me paper advertisement in Lankadeepa newspaper which published by National Youth Council – Lalith Kothalawala Centre in Ratmalana. They got Professional Photography Course in Saturday afternoon. I know this great chance for me. I send an application for that course and after month they have call me for interview.  I hope this will start soon than Hegoda class. After do payment in same day, they give me letter to attend orientation date in after another month. (As u thinks I use lot of F… words).

July 10th I went to Hegoda class. Huge crowd of student (upto 70) came to join our group but only 50 peoples allowed. (no need to worry because already booked seat) after week (in 16th) Youth Council course also started.

Finally, At the moment I have attend to 5 class in Hegoda School and like to keep my word Lal Hegoda is excellent teacher which have updated knowledge. Also he is real gentlemen and class is wonderful. I feel myself what happened to my knowledge about Photography and especially in creative photography. I am keen interesting to attending for next 19 classes.
In other hand, Youth council course also excellent class for learn to photography. My class also have around 50 students. Not like Hegoda sir I don’t know anything about this class and teacher before attend in first day. I wonder after knowing about him…. Dr. INDRAJITH SENEVIRATNE a talented young genius with conceptual photographic prowess. He apart from being a professional in the field is in great demand as a teacher of photography. (Thanks to my wife, I got a chance to be his student). I surprise after know I am in his last batch he train after conducting classes in last 10 years. He said he will go in to stop teaching in UNI, NYC, everywhere and going to conventional living and becoming a monastic end of this year.  I am very happy to be one of Indrajith sir’s students.  His lectures, concepts, are very helpful to even day-today life.

Now everything started ….. See what will happening……
